Our Team

Managing Director: Philip Brennan

The Founder and Managing Director of Raiseaconcern is Philip Brennan.

Philip is well known and widely respected in the field of regulation, compliance and business ethics. He is a former President of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland and is a former President of the Irish Tax Institute.

Philip worked at a senior level for many years in financial services. As part of that role, Philip oversaw a whistleblowing process. He learned considerably from this and oversaw the investigation into a number of high profile key control failures - failures that in many cases were identified by staff and others who raised concerns.

Philip has interacted directly with whistleblowers over the years. He knows what motivates them to have the courage to speak up. He understands their fears and concerns.

Likewise, Philip has dealt with senior management and Directors and knows how important it is that they are aware of and understand their responsibilities regarding whistleblowing. He knows the business benefits of having an open culture where each employee is encouraged to speak up about what is on their mind.

Philip also understands regulation and how to build systems and processes to mitigate the risk of regulatory failure. He has dealt with the consequences of regulatory failure by business lines and has interacted with senior regulators in identifying and reporting issues and reaching acceptable outcomes.

Philip oversees the operations at Raiseaconcern and is actively involved at all levels.  He leads the client development function and advises organisations on whistleblowing scheme set up.  Philip is also actively involved in listening to employees who have concerns about wrongdoing and providing them with guidance. He also leads and directs independent investigations across a range of areas (including Dignity at Work) in the public and private sector and also undertakes dispute resolution.
