Data Transfer And Retention

Data Transfer when you raise a concern

Can personal data or information be transferred to jurisdictions with weak Data Protection Laws?

The personal data or information which you give to Raiseaconcern.com will not be transferred or processed by us or by our web hosting facilitator outside the European Economic Area (EEA). All EEA countries are required to operate to high standards of data protection.

Under protocols agreed with your employer, details of the concern you raise and any personal data or information contained therein relating to third parties will not be transferred or processed by them outside the EEA unless the country in question operates to a high standard of data protection and has been approved as such by the EU Commission.

Subject to the Data Protection Acts, we may disclose personal information, including sensitive personal information described earlier, to a third party in relation to any sale(s) of our business in whole or part, or in the event of a merger or consolidation.  For the avoidance of doubt such disclosure would only be to actual purchasers of the business in whole or in part, not prospective purchasers.

Data Retention

It is our aim to only hold your data for as long as required for the purposes set out above or as required for us to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations to which we are subject. We regularly review our files to check that information is accurate, up to date and still required.

We hold your personal data on our systems for the longest of the following periods:

  • for as long as is necessary to allow us to provide the relevant activity or service; or

  • any retention period that is required by law; or

  • the end of the period in which litigation or investigations might arise in respect of the services.

When we no longer need your personal data, we will securely delete or destroy it.
